Goldie is a one-act dark comedy about breaking cycles of abuse, taking back control, and discovering that happily-ever-after may look nothing like a fairy tale.

Goldie has spent her life under the rule of her drunken father. When she finally finds the courage to run, she heads for the city in search of freedom, love and a fresh start. Goldie quickly learns that escaping one monster doesn’t mean you won’t meet another.

As long-buried secrets come to light, Goldie is forced to confront where she came from, who she has become, and just how far she is prepared to go to finally take control of her own story.

Told with rhyming dialogue, heightened characters, physical comedy and deliberately confronting humour, Goldie turns the familiar damsel-in-distress story on its head in a wild tale of survival, revenge and female defiance.
